Who we are

Chat Phetch (chatphetch.com) is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us through the Contact page.

What we collect

• When you create an account: your username, email address and a password. Your password is turned into a scrambled code (a hash) before it is saved, so we can never see it. We also record the date you joined and signed in, and the number of failed sign-in attempts (five wrong tries lock the account for 15 minutes).
• If you use Google sign-in: your verified email address, Google account ID and name from Google. We ask you separately to choose a username.
• Your play activity: your coin balance, XP and level, the date of your last daily bonus, and which games you opened recently, so your account page can show them.
• When you contact us or send a Player Care request: your name, email address, topic and message.
• Security records: a protected record of sign-ups, sign-ins and form submissions, including the date, the email or username used, the result and your IP address. Passwords are never recorded.

You can play every game without an account. In that case we don't collect your name or email.

Why we use it

• To create and run your account, balance and levels (to provide the service you asked for)
• To confirm you are an adult and keep the Site safe (our legitimate interests and legal obligations)
• To reply to your messages and requests
• To prevent misuse, such as repeated password guessing

We don't sell your information and we don't use it for advertising.

Where it is kept and for how long

Your account details are stored securely on our server in protected storage that can't be opened from the web. They stay until you delete your account from My account or ask us to delete it. Contact messages are emailed to our support inbox and a copy of the submission details is kept in a protected record so we can check that it arrived; we delete them once your request is dealt with. Security records are kept for a limited time, normally no longer than 12 months.

We never ask for or store card or bank details.

Who else handles your information

• Email delivery: messages from the contact and Player Care forms are passed to our email delivery provider (Brevo) so they can reach our inbox.
• Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google". Google's own privacy policy applies to that sign-in.
• Our games: the games load inside our pages from our own game servers and may use their own cookies. See the Cookies Policy.

We host our own fonts and images, so your browser doesn't contact font or image services when you visit.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy of it. You can delete your account yourself at any time. To make a request, use the Contact page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The Site is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has created an account, please tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of the page.
